All civil liberties are at stake in the Netherlands, at the moment. The present governing coalition of orthodox Christians, Christian Democrats and Social-democrats try to rob the Dutch of their traditional small pleasures. A smoking ban, a ban on prostitution, a ban on smoking weed, and a ban on magic mushrooms have been introduced.
Probably more important: even free speach is at stake! The cartoonist Gregorius Nekschot was dragged out of his house by ten civil servants and thrown into jail, for his cartoons.
The cartoonist went to Denmark to report to the Danish Free Press Society about the situation in Holland. As we know, Danish cartoonists had been under pressure by the 'Islamic World'. If the Dutch Government is so worried about Muslims, why do they themself impose their own version of a Sharia on our country?? The Netherlands are slipping back into dark times...

After 15 years of regulated sales a new back entrance has been created.
Every day since the ban on ‘magic mushrooms’ of december 1rst, some 6.000 young adults must resort to the illegal circuit to buy dangerous synthetic alternatives for ‘paddo’s’ that drugsrunners do not provide. So the total now is 5 days x 6.000 = 30.000, of which 19.500 (65%) outside of Amsterdam. Without minimum age, without quality control, without safe dosage and usige instructions, in unlimited quantities.

A plea for a pragmatic policy and a comment on the most important argument of minister Klink for a ban on magic mushrooms.
- Regulate and reduce the number of places selling magic mushrooms; -Launch a waiting time of several days to reduce the number of impulsive purchases and purchases made by tourists who are only a couple of days in Amsterdam; -Prohibit advertising concerning magic mushrooms on facades or in window displays stores selling magic mushrooms; -No sale of magic mushrooms to persons under 18; -Unambigious information about the effects and risks of magic mushrooms and training of personnel.

The association of 'smart shops' (VLOS) - shops selling natural psychoactives - claims that as a result of all the media attention the turnover from sales of hallucinogenic mushrooms, or paddo's as they are called in the Netherlands, increased by 20 percent last year.

Amsterdam - After dropping their packs at a hostel, Ryan Ainsworth and his buddy Richie Bendelow found a shop selling 500 herbal potions that promised to make them high and happy in 500 ways. But the young British tourists went right for the hallucinogenic mushrooms, packaged in clear plastic containers just like the ordinary ones at the greengrocer back home.

This Saturday the Save The Shroom protest took place at the Dam square in Amsterdam. The atmosphere was very relaxed, with colourful banners and mushrooms everywhere.

Dutch Say "No" Again, This Time to Hallucinogenic Mushrooms
By BEDE MOORE
For many years the Netherlands glowed as a beacon in the eyes of travelers eager to indulge in the various vices sanctioned in the city's famed red-light district.
The tolerated sale of marijuana, the legal procurement of prostitutes in red-light districts, and the convenient location of "smartshops" selling fresh hallucinogenic mushrooms all helped lure tourists to Europe's northwestern edge.

Dutch media failed in checking and rechecking their sources - one of the most important principles of journalism - by publishing their stories about the several magic mushrooms incidents earlier this month. Now it seems to be that the French tourist who murdered his dog with a pair of scissors last friday, did not consume any magic mushrooms at all.
