parliamentIn response to the non-answers and lies of yesterday, a new series of parliament questions were submitted to our Minister of Health. Is he starting to feel nervous already? Does he regret that he ever started his mushroom adventure? We hope so!

Questions from members of Velzen (SP), Van der Ham (D66) and Azough (Green) to the Minister of Health, Welfare and Sport on Mushroom incidents

Question 1: Do you remember your answers to the parliament? *1) Are you also familiar with the decision of the urgent appeal’s Court’s proceedings between National Smartshop Association www.VLOS.nl and the State of the Netherlands November 28, 2008?  *2)

Question 2: How does the finding in the verdict that "the State in court (has) confirmed that none of the incidents to which the Minister has made a causal link between mushroom use and incident” relate to your answer: “In retrospect it is unfortunate that it seemed that we banned the shrooms because of this incident. What i wanted to say is that the incident of the alleged use of magic mushrooms made me and my colleagues decide to brainstorm to ban the magic mushrooms. The ban, however, is based on a few incidents where there was clearly risky and unpredictable behaviour, caused by, among other substances, the use of magic mushrooms.”?  Do you share our opinion that your answer does not match the opinion of the Court?

Question 3: To which  incidents you are referring exactly? Could  you give an overview of the incidents involving causal link between the use of mushrooms and mushroom incident? For these incidents, could you show whether other substances (such as alcohol and cocaine) have been used as well, or that it was purely a mushroom incident?

Question 4: What is your reaction to the statement of Prof. toxicologist. Dr. FA de Wolff, in a letter dated November 21, 2008 stated that for none of the incidents in Amsterdam and Den Haag it is determined that there were really magic mushrooms consumed, or that the observed clinical effects of magic mushrooms can be attributed, even if they had been consumed? *3)

Question 5: Are you willing to reconsider your implemented ban on hallucinogenic mushrooms?

*1) Responses from January 20, 2009 to Chamber members of Van Velzen (SP), Van der Ham (D66) and Azough (Green) on the three-time expression of untruth around Mushrooms (2080907450)
*2) Sentence of the Court 's-Gravenhage of November 28, 2008. www.rechtspraak.nl, LJN number BG6117
*3) Paragraph 2.16 of the sentence, under: 2

The question that we stated yesterday, whether Minister Klink has even read his own supplementary report of the CAM at all, has been answered.  In a letter written to the Lower Chamber (Parliament), written by him, on 24 october 2007, we can read:

"As i stated in my letter of May 14, 2007 reported to your Chamber, I requested the opinion of the Assessment Coordination and Monitoring new drugs (CAM), also as a result of the questions of  Joldersma of March 29, 2007.  It was about the  report" Risk assessment of psilocine and containing psilocybin mushrooms (magic mushrooms) 2007.  "and at the request of the undersigned made further analysis of the extent of health risks for the individual in relation to the unpredictable nature of magic mushrooms in conjunction with the hallucinogenic effect. Both reports we hereby send to you. "

and

"The CAM-analysis of serious mushroom incidents this year in Amsterdam have therefore put forward that in most cases mushrooms were combined with alcohol and / or other drugs. Therefor i do not aggree with the advice of the CAM not to ban the mushrooms.

It is clear then. This guy is a complete illogical clown...

He will answer to the 5 questions within a month, probably.

If that’s true where is the ban on beer? He tried to do something he felt would “help” the community, but didn’t know what he was getting into. My feeling is the ban will be lifted by 2010, no later.
